Nire's Desire: Prana

Hello everyone!

with top coat

I've enjoyed reading many "favorite polish lists" this week. So I started writing one too, but realized that I hadn't even showed them to you... well you have seen a few of them...

That's why you're looking at Nire's Desire: Prana today! :-)

It's one of my top 10 favorite polishes from 2014. It's a multichrome that looks red, purple and blue at the same time. It shifts to a more red or purple/blue. It doesn't have a chrome finish like the ILNP's. It's more like a shimmer. And I like that it doesn't have any holo sparkles. It's a part of The Yoga Trio Collection. It is not tested on animals and Big 5 Free.

My photos were taken in December, so they may look a little too pale because of the winter daylight. Sadly the sun wasn't shining.

2 photos without top coat:

Nire's Desire Polish is a US indie brand, and can be bought on Etsy.

She was very kind and gave me Nire's Desire's top coat with the cool name "The Shining". Have you seen the movie?

Prana was shiny on it's own, but when I applied The Shining, I felt that the polish came to life. I also felt that the red became more visible. But I don't think it's as fast drying as Seche Vite.

2 photos with top coat (The Shining):

Prana is similar to Crows Toes: Indian Summer, but I think Prana is more red, and Indian Summer more blue. The Crumpet has made a good comparison.

Dance Legend: The Knight

Hello everyone!

Dance Legend is a Russian brand that seem to make all kinds of nail polish. If it has been made, they make it too. If it hasn't been made, they make it. When I first heard about this brand, I'd never seen a franken collection before, and the caviar polish was also new to me. Interesting to see what this brand will do next. I couldn't find any information about animal testing, so I emailed them. And they wrote that they don't do animal testing! I hope we can trust their answer.

The Knight is a multichrome that goes from blue to gold, or is it copper? It's a no longer available limited edition polish from the Camelon collection.

I expected a full size bottle of maybe the most beautiful multichrome ever. When my tiny (6,5 ml.) mini bottle arrived, I panicked, and I tried to order one more. I knew it was limited edition, but I couldn't decide which extra bottle to buy, so I went to bed. Next day it was sold out! I waited for a very good reason to wear it. One evening in June, I was going to watch a ballet, and tried the Knight on, and it went right in on my top 20 list. I had to wait for day 2 to take the photos, and the polish had some scratch marks. But without any back up bottle on my way, I just couldn't take it off and reapply it. I didn't want to waste this polish... After I found a bottle on eBay, I wish I had better photos though...

As you see on the first picture below, this polish is like a camelon. Here is has picked up the surrounding green and yellow color, like a mirror:

Reflecting the surrounding green and yellow

To my surprise, this is what the cotton looks like when removing this polish. Where did all that gold go?

Do you love this polish as much as I do?

Enchanted Disney - GOT Polish Challenge: Indie

Hello everyone!

I used 3 polishes from Enchanted Polish. First a multichrome with holographic microglitter, and then I made a glitter gradient with 2 colorchanging glitters. I used Northern Lights as top coat before I stamped Mickey Mouse on. And the next day, I applied matte top coat.

Products used:

Nubar: Ridge Filler (base coat)
Enchanted Polish: Octopuse's Garden
Enchanted Polish: Ola Rio
Enchanted Polish: Hello New York
Out The Door: INM Northern Lights Hologram Top Coat "Silver"
Infinity Nails #31 (stamping plate)
China Glaze: Admire (stamping polish)
Seche Vite (top coat)
Gosh: Matte top coat

I bought these Enchanted Polish bottles when they were easy to get, about 1,5 years ago, and I haven't showed them on the blog  before. Octopuse's Garden is from the 2013 Imagine Collection. The two color changing glitters are from the Big City Lights Collection 2012. So they are not very old, but old enough for the GOT Challenge.

I made this in May when Disney was the Nail Polish Queens challenge. If I had seen the movie "Saving Mr. Banks" before I made this manicure, I think I would have added palm trees.

I hope you liked this nail art. Below you can find thumbnails with links to the other participants.

St. Patrick's Day Nails: Mutagen stamped with MM04

Hello everyone!

To make these St. Patrick's Day Nails, I started with a green multichrome called Mutagen from I Love Nail Polish. I used 3 coats and top coat. Then I used Konad: SN Black to stamp the pattern from an image on Messy Mansion's stamping plate MM04. Because I have small nails, I could use different parts of the image like this. The first photo above is taken before top coating the stamping.

Photos:

First a few photos of Mutagen on it's own, then more pictures of the finished manicure, and the plate. All the photos below are with top coat. Lighting: shade, sun, Ott- Lite, LED lamp. No under water photos this time.

Used:

I Love Nail Polish (ILNP): Mutagen
Messy Mansion: MM04
Konad: SN Black

MM04:

I bought MM04 because of this image only, and I can't understand how someone can draw such an awesome design. Now that I have the plate, I also like many of the other images. I love the hands holding a heart, and the clover images. The plate has a lot of images that are perfect for those who celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but they can of course be used any time of the year. I didn't hold the stamping plate straight on the photo above, so the images in the front appear larger than they really are. The plate is very well etched, as usual with the Messy Mansion plates. Sadly there are some tiny holes in my dear perfect soft stamper, so if you see some green dots where it was supposed to be black, that's why. If my next stamper is of the same quality, I will be more careful with it.

Mutagen:

This multichrome is a very vibrant green that changes color depending of the angle of your nails. It was difficult to photograph this polish. It looks even "greener" in real life. LOL. ILNP describes it as a mirror- like chrome. Mutagen is from ILNP's growing “Ultra Chrome” collection. I have the old version of Mutagen. Now they also have a holographic version called "Mutagen (H)". Mutagen is similar to, but not a dupe of Enchanted Polish: Hey Jude. Mutagen is less colorchanging than I had expected, but because of the vibrant green color and the mirror- like chrome effect, I love it.

What's your favourite multichrome nail polish?

Konad m51 & Enchanted Polish 'Magical Mystery Tour'

Hello everyone!

In Konad Ireland's Black and White competition about two months ago, there were no losers. So although I didn't win, I got a stamping plate for participating. And I picked m51. For this mani I chose to use one of the images on m51, and stamped with the black Konad stamping polish. The base is the multichrome Enchanted Polish 'Magical Mystery Tour', which is a green-blue-purple-pink-gold-brown color shifting and a little scattered holographic nail polish. I have written about it earlier, and you can see lots of photos of what it looks like on it's own here. So I don't have more to say, but as usual a lot of photos.

Thank you Konad Ireland for giving me this stamping plate! :-D
