Pieces: Winter Purple

Hello everyone!

(This blog seems to look best in Google Chrome!)
Pieces: Winter Purple

This is a dark purple cream nail polish called Winter Purple, from Pieces. I like the color very much, but my camera doesn't. These three first photos are as color accurate as I can get them, but the two first should have looked a little more red, and the third should have been a little darker. But because of it's name, I wanted to take some winter photos outside too, although the camera makes the polish look too blue in daylight.

I don't remember how many coats I used. So I did a test today, and only needed two coats to reach opacity on that nail. So I have probably used 2-3 coats. I just remember that I was relieved that it is a lot better than the formula of the Pieces cream polish I bought last year :-) This bottle was bought in December.

Bestseller, who owns Pieces, has made a new statement on this webpage, that they don't accept any animal testing. Although I haven't found their name on the animal organisations' lists, I hope we can trust Bestseller's statement:

Animal testing
In Bestseller we do not agree with testing cosmetics on animals. Our suppliers must not be involved in any animal testing of cosmetic products and ingredients, or purchase ingredients or products from suppliers which have been involved in such practices.

I like this color very much, but also wanted to try a flakie over it. I'll show you in a few days.

GOSH: #598 Bubble Gum (on it's own and used for nail art)

Hello everyone!

Gosh #598 Bubble Gum is the pink cream nail polish I've used in nearly all the nail art that includes the color pink that you have seen on this blog. I felt that it was time for you to see it on it's own. I'll also include photos  of and links to the nail art where I've used Bubble Gum so far.

GOSH #598 Bubble Gum

The reason why I've used it so much is that it's a medium pink (not too orange, not too red, not too light, not too dark), and it's a 1- 2 coater. I mean that on some nails I use 2 and on other nails I need only 1 coat. The formula of my Gosh creams (except for Miss Grey) is on the thick side. So it's possible to use them layered over other colors too. I also like that Gosh is on the animal organizations' cruelty free lists :-) I think I bought Bubble Gum when it was 30% off in 2011.

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Scrangie

Hello everyone!

(This blog seems to look best in Google Chrome!)
Rescue Beauty Lounge (RBL): Scrangie

This is Rescue Beauty Lounge (RBL): Scrangie.

Rescue Beauty Lounge: Scrangie

The nail polish is called Scrangie, because it is custom made for her (Scrangie who writes the blog Scrangie). It was limited edition some years ago, and I bought it in May 2012, when it was available again. It is described by RBL as a tinted purple with an iridescent blue-green shimmer.

RBL claims to be 5 free: No dibutyl phtalate (DBP), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toulene, and most importantly: no animal testing :-)

This is 3 coats of Scrangie. The last two pictures are with top coat (Cult Nails: Wicked Fast). I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking :-)
