NPL Daisies - Ruby Wing: Eternal - stamping over color changing polish

Hello everyone!

I had fun with color changing polish again. This time it was Ruby Wing: Eternal, which is made with SolarActive® Technology. It looks turquoise in the shade/ inside and outside/ in the sun it looks dark green- grey. What surprised me, is that the white stamped flowers also changed from white to light pink. I bought Eternal and Crowd Surf in May 2013. They are both from the 2013 Summer Collection, and are still available and cruelty- free (source (look for Forsythe Cosmetic Group)).


I made this in June 2014 when the theme was "Daisies" in the G+ group Nail Polish Lovers. It was too difficult to paint them, and this image was the closest I could find. Two plates from MoYou London's Pro collection have this image: 08 (regular size) and 10 (XL). I don't remember, but I think I used the biggest here. To fix some flowers, I added a little white. And I think that's why the color of the flowers looks uneven in the sun. But now that I've learned that, I'll make sure that the stamping is good next time.


I'm very far behind with my blogging, so I still haven't even showd you all the nail art from 2014, and the polish I was wearing in 2013... not to mention the haul posts the last two years...

December Solstice & Advent Nails - stamping nail art

I made this today, which is the shortest day of the year here in the northern hemisphere; December Solstice. Every year on this day, even though winter has just started, I always look forward to longer and longer days the next 6 months. It's also the last Sunday in advent. So I felt it was too early for red nails, and purple is the color traditionally used the month before Christmas around here. So that's why I made purple snowflake nails on this Midwinter Day.

And I was curious about Kings & Queens, this red toned purple linear holographic polish that I bought when I Love Nail Polish had a sale earlier this fall, when they sold out their round bottles with this I♥ logo. Their new bottles are square.

 I brought a little snow inside for these two pictures.

Unfortunately the sun wasn't shining today, and the winter daylight was low when I was ready to take the photos, so most of these photos are taken in artificial lighting and don't look as shiny as they do IRL.

The snowflakes are stamped on. I used HB 23, my favorite snowflake plate, and Konad stamping polish in White, Pastel Pink, and Pastel Purple.

#31Nails2014 #10 Favorite Movie - stamping nail art

Hello everyone!

It was difficult to decide which movie I like best, and that's one of the reasons why I didn't complete the 31 Day challenge... So now I tried to narrow it down to the movies I've seen most times; The Wedding Date, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the first Harry Potter movie, Avatar, the Back to the Future Trilogy I & II & III, but I couldn't pick only one of the Back to the Future movies... I chose "The Wedding Date" because it's a movie that makes me smile. I remember a day when I was very sad, and I sat down and watched it 3 times. It's very funny, romantic, a little sad sometimes, the actors are doing a fantastic job, and it has a happy ending. :-) If you see it, notice that Kat has the same mum that you might know as Charlie and Allan's mum in Two and a half men.

The movie is from 2005, but if you have access to VH1, you can watch it on TV December 5th and 6th.

I bought the Color Club polish on eBay. The other 3 were bought from Norway Nails.

I tried to do "Favorite Movie Nails", but it turned into "Favorite MovieS Nails" instead. As you see I used 88MPH on my pinkie, which is inspired by the car/ time machine in the Back to the Future trilogy, and I'm a big fan, so I had to include it. And I used Bridget on my ring finger, which was inspired by the Bridget Jones movies. The colors are also symbolic. The color blue is used a lot in the Wedding Date, but also in Avatar. And purple is maybe my favorite color, but...  ...I'm going to try to stop writing now....

Last year in the Norway Nails giveaway, I was also asked what my favourite movie is, and then I answered "Midnignt in Paris" which I love, and it's one of the best movies I've seen. But I've only seen it twice... and it would be difficult to try to paint the amazing poster...

Now I'm very curious. What's your favorite movie? And which movie is the best movie ever?

Old bottles of polish: Guerlain N°3 Brun

Hello everyone!

Guerlain N°3 Brun is one of my oldest bottles of nail polish. You might remember it from my vintage collection post. This is a dark brown creme polish with a subtle shimmer. You can see it on the photos that are taken in the sun. I hadn't used it for years, and the bottle seemed empty. But after adding thinner, the polish behaved like a one coater. So I added more, and then I noticed the shimmer! :-) I'm wearing 2 coats+ Seche Vite. The photos of the thumb were taken before top coat. Look how shiny it is! I don't know if this polish is a teenager or a young adult. Please let me know if you remember/ know.


I'll start with swatches, and then you can take a closer look at the bottle. (I'm sorry about my nail shape. It's because three nails on this hand are broken.)

Now I never wear brown polish. But a long time ago I used brown a lot. And it felt very strange when I was going to paint my nails, but now I like it again.

Sadly Guerlain is on the list of brands that are tested on animals, so I don't recommend buying from them. I just wanted to show you my vintage nail polish. And I wanted to show it before you see the nail art I made for the GOT Polish Challenge.

Summer Vacation Hauls 2014

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful summer/ winter. I just came back from vacation, and found some brands abroad that I'd only seen on other blogs. It was interesting to see them in real life, and I felt that I had to buy some when I had the chance. The bottles were on sale and/ or low price brands, and I tried to stay cruelty- free. We went on a little round trip through some European countries, and these are the nail polishes I picked up along the way. 

This might seem like a lot, and it is. LOL. I also got some nail mail...

...but except for these MoYou London stamping plates, I'll show the rest later.

I was very sad when I forgot the charger for my camera, but found this universal battery charger. I really recommend it because it's supposed to work for all digital camera batteries, and it can even be used in the car.

What also happened this summer, was that I broke 9 nails... Yes, 9! :-( But not at the same time. So as some nails grew enough to be called nubbins, and I started to feel better, other nails broke. 

I've bought this resin, resin activator and silk wrap, so that I'll be able to repair my nails without having to use a lamp, next time I break a nail. I wasn't able to get the ASP light- less gel kit, but this works too.


I hope you liked to see what I bought. I fell for some polishes that are different from the ones I already have, and I'm curious about many of these brands. I guess we all buy different polishes because of our taste and what we already have in our collection.
