Old bottles of polish: Guerlain N°3 Brun

Hello everyone!

Guerlain N°3 Brun is one of my oldest bottles of nail polish. You might remember it from my vintage collection post. This is a dark brown creme polish with a subtle shimmer. You can see it on the photos that are taken in the sun. I hadn't used it for years, and the bottle seemed empty. But after adding thinner, the polish behaved like a one coater. So I added more, and then I noticed the shimmer! :-) I'm wearing 2 coats+ Seche Vite. The photos of the thumb were taken before top coat. Look how shiny it is! I don't know if this polish is a teenager or a young adult. Please let me know if you remember/ know.

I'll start with swatches, and then you can take a closer look at the bottle. (I'm sorry about my nail shape. It's because three nails on this hand are broken.)

Now I never wear brown polish. But a long time ago I used brown a lot. And it felt very strange when I was going to paint my nails, but now I like it again.

The bottle:

There's no text on the other side.

Sadly Guerlain is on the list of brands that are tested on animals, so I don't recommend buying from them. I just wanted to show you my vintage nail polish. And I wanted to show it before you see the nail art I made for the GOT Polish Challenge.

What do you think about this polish? Do you like brown nail polish or do you hate it?

♥ If you know anything about Guerlain N°3 Brun, please let me know! ♥

Vintage- Polish Days March- Old bottles of polish

My vintage nail polish collection

Hello everyone!

This months Polish Days theme is VINTAGE, so here it is, the old part of my nail polish collection! :-) I'll show you the bottles of course, but I also picked 20 of them to show on a nail wheel. I haven't felt comfortable showing the collection until now, because sadly, I found out that most of these polishes are tested on animals. And most of the few brands that didn't test on animals then, started doing it. But with today's Polish Days theme, and now that the EU has stopped to test cosmetics on animals this week, I felt that I had an excuse to do it. Also, few of these bottles are still for sale.

If you want to know more about Polish Days, and how to join in next month, just click on the badge below.
As usual, you'll find thumbnails with links to all the other participants at the end of the post.

Green Magnetic: IsaDora #854 Opposites Attract

Hello everyone!

IsaDora #854 Opposites Attract

I had been waiting for IsaDora's magnetic nail polishes. I don't have much experience with IsaDora, but knew that the brand is on the Cruelty- Free list. So when I saw that the magnetics were available, I immediately bought the ones I liked.

Accessorize: Dream

Hello everyone!

Accessorize Dream

After the post about Sweet Dreams, what could be better than a Dream- post?

Accessorize Dream

Accessorize "Dream":

Dream is a blue small sized glitter with medium sized purple glitter, in a clear base. The glitter is dense. It seems like the glitter is put in as little base as possible. On these photos I used two super thick coats, but the glitter kind of dried as I put it on, so to get enough polish for each coat I had to dip the brush twice. The formula of "Dream" is very similar to the formula of "Magic". But Magic is purple with pink, instead of blue with purple.

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams

Hello everyone!

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams

Earlier this spring, I was lucky and got a chance to try Sweet Dreams on twice. I tried to tell myself that I did not need it. But I could not forget it, so I bought it. And today I will show you some nailphotos of Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams as a full manicure.

GOSH 610 BLISSFUL

Hello everyone!

GOSH #610 Blissful

On these nailphotos you can see what one coat of Blissful looks like. One coat, no clean up, no top coat. But as usual I used a base coat (from GOSH).

These photos are either too pink and bright or too red and dark. I think this one is the most color accurate:

GOSH #611 Raw Rose+ Nfu- Oh #49

Hello everyone!

GOSH #611 Raw Rose+ Nfu- Oh #49

Here is where last post continues. When I came home with GOSH #611 Raw Rose, the first thing I thought was that it was perfect for Nfu- Oh #49. Then, when I saw the bottles together, they were not so similar after all. But I really like them together. I think this is a very cute manicure. To go to my last post, about Raw Rose, click here.

GOSH 611 RAW ROSE

Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you Raw Rose by GOSH. Raw Rose is one of the three nail lacquers from their 2012 spring collection, together with Drizzle (dusty mint green) and Blissful (red). There is a photo of the three nail polishes in my first Weekend Haul post.

GOSH Raw Rose

The color of Raw Rose is a kind of pink that looks like it has been mixed with beige or grey. In my opinion it is work appropriate, and a color people of all ages can feel comfortable wearing. Sometimes it leans to brown, and sometimes to pink. The formula is a little on the thick side, (like all my creams from GOSH), and easy to apply. I used two coats. My base-/ top coat is also from GOSH.

To show the color, I put it next to: a flower, other nail polishes (brown, pink, red) , rose quartz, green leafs, terracotta, and a fabric that looks similar to Drizzle's color.

TL Design: #96 Bombay + layering

Hello everyone!

TL Design #96 Bombay

Today I want to show you  TL Design #96 Bombay. First nailphotos of it on its own, and later with Accessorize Aztec on one accent nail, and then with OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air layered over Bombay. And finally some other layering options on my nail wheels.

TL Design Bombay:

Layering over GOSH 609 Drizzle

Hello everyone!

Today I will show you photos of how I layered other nail polishes on top of GOSH Drizzle, when I tested out what would look nice together with this dusty green. When I started thinking about which effects I wanted to combine with Drizzle, I remembered the gold I had seen in Zoya Yara. So I chose a gold glitter, but I also wanted to see how other glitters would look, and different flakies, holo, and some other polishes.

A little layering experiment.

I am wearing base coat and two coats of GOSH 609 DRIZZLE, no top coat. You will see nailphotos of 10 different nail polishes on top of that, then with one more coat on some nails and top coat, then with mat top coat, and in the end as I liked it best, with some mat and some shiny nails.

Swatch after testing Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light

Hello everyone!

I was very surprised when I found some Deborah Lippmann testers, when I was shopping. Here is what my left hand looked like afterwards:

This is two coats. Under all this is Gina Tricot 48 Diva. I was in a hurry, and had no time to take pictures of it for you, before I left home. I hope Ray of Light is opaque enough to not show the color beneath it.

There are some scratches because a woman came into the shop, and "had to" stand very close to me, and I therefor had to move my bags with my wet nails. :-( But some of the scratches were there before I put the testers on.
