My entry to The Lacquerologist's Contest |
The Lacquerologist is having a 6 Month Blogiversary NAIL ART CONTEST, and this is my entry.
First, I will tell a bit about the contest, and after that I will show you more photos of my design, and what I used to make it. A click on the orange picture below, will take you to The Lacquerologist's post about her contest, where you can see thumbnails of all my fellow participants entries. You still have time to join in. It closes August 5. I'm just a bit early because I want to participate in some other contests too. And I had been thinking about this design for some time, so this contest helped me to get started.
Thank you The Lacquerologist for having this contest! And happy blogiversary!
As a theme we could choose one of the days (Day 1- 14) from the Abstract Nail Art Challenge, and I chose Day 10: Stripes.
The Lacqerologist didn't give us any restriction on what to use, so I felt very free. That was nice.
First I made a background color (grey with holographic glitter) with nail polish, and then I used acrylic paint for the stripes. I chose acrylic because I thought it could be easily removed with water if I made mistakes. But I was wrong. But maybe I shouldn't have waited until I had finished a whole nail... It dried faster than I had thought, so I didn't get a chance to wipe it off and try again and again as I had planned. I was about to take it all off when my friend said he liked it and convinced me to take some photos first. I am glad he talked me into it. So I kept it, and changed it a bit. And now I like it although it did not turn out exactly as I had planned.
Let's take a look at it again:

I am very happy that I found this nail art contest. It made me want to do more freehand nail art.

ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad you liked it. I tried to recreate a design I saw on a hair clamp. :-)
