Roses stamped over a favorite skittle base

Hello everyone!

'Stamping over a skittle base' was the challenge in the group 'Adventures in Stamping' this Sunday. I was very stressed and didn't know what colors to choose for my base. Then I said to myself; "If you choose your favorites, you can't go wrong". So I did. Well, these are definitely on my top 10 list at the moment, but that might change next month. I also wanted them to look good together, so I didn't include a bright one and some holos that I also love. The nail polishes look different in different light, so on many photos only two nails look their best. I also tried to take step by step photos, but I will not show them in this post.

Shade:

Used:

Thumb: Nfu- Oh: #56 (green jelly with green flakies and microglitter) layered over Pieces: Pine Green (green cream)
Index finger: Nfu- Oh: #51 (purple jelly with flakies and microglitter that shift from green to orange to red, but looks mainly pink here)
Middle finger: Ninja Polish: Divinity (bronze shimmer that can shift to green, in purple base)
Ring finger: Enchanted Polish: Magical Mystery Tour (very multicrome and a little scattered holographic)
Pinky: Ciaté: love letter #112 (pink- orange glitter)

Konad: Black SP
Image plate: Konad: m65

On the thumb I used 2 coats over the dark green base (Pine Green). On the other nails I think I used 3 coats. I used base- and top coat, but the glitter also got a layer of Posché.

After a visit to a farm with some attention seeking animals, I had to help one nail a little. I also learned that it's not a good idea to apply water resistant sun block if you have no time for extra clean- up. I managed to ruin the top coat on one nail during the extra clean up, so I added top coat on those two. Most of the photos were taken after I came home.

Konad m51 & Enchanted Polish 'Magical Mystery Tour'

Hello everyone!

In Konad Ireland's Black and White competition about two months ago, there were no losers. So although I didn't win, I got a stamping plate for participating. And I picked m51. For this mani I chose to use one of the images on m51, and stamped with the black Konad stamping polish. The base is the multichrome Enchanted Polish 'Magical Mystery Tour', which is a green-blue-purple-pink-gold-brown color shifting and a little scattered holographic nail polish. I have written about it earlier, and you can see lots of photos of what it looks like on it's own here. So I don't have more to say, but as usual a lot of photos.

Thank you Konad Ireland for giving me this stamping plate! :-D

Palm Tree Paradise Nails. Entry for Konad Ireland's Summer Competition

Hello everyone!

Palm Tree Paradise Nails

This is my entry for Konad Ireland's Summer Competition. I really love this manicure. Sorry that my skin looks a little yellow, but this photo is the most color accurate of the nails. The nails look better in real life; The tips look a little greener, and the purple and gold trees look opaque IRL. The stamping plate I've used is Konad s2. Here are some more photos! :-)

All entries can be found in this album, where you can vote for your favorite.

World Ovarian Cancer Day

Hello everyone!

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day. This is a type of cancer that I didn't know anything about, but if you want to read about ovarian cancer, just click here. I am very glad that I found out that some girls were going to make teal nail art to help raise awareness about ovarian cancer, because that made me learn about it. Because this is a kind of cancer that often get detected late, it's important to be aware of the symptoms, and to read these 5 facts that every woman should know. According to MedlinePlus; "cancer of the ovary is not common, but it causes more deaths than other female reproductive cancers." You can see the other manicures made for ovarian cancer awareness at the end of the post.

List of what I used:

mi-ny: #56 Klimt- pastel turquoise
Messy Mansion: MM07- rose stamping plate
Gina Tricot: #76 Brilliant blue- turquoise, used for stamping (leafs)
Konad: Black- stamping polish (roses)
mi-ny:  #247 I love London- flakie (Some of the photos are taken before adding the flakies.)
Seche Vite after each step

mi-ny: Klimt, Gina Tricot: Brilliant blue, Konad: Black, mi-ny. I love London,
Messy Mansion: MM07

It was interesting to see how different mi-ny: 'I LOVE LONDON' looks over pastel teal and over black. I used only one coat. 'I love London' is a very sheer pastel turquoise base with red flakies and tiny blue flakies. The red flakies can shift to orange and yellow (as you can see over the black roses), and light green (as you can see in the bottle). mi-ny is not tested on animals :-)

mi-ny: I love London

I chose to use this Messy Mansion stamping plate today, not only because I love the rose images, but also  because Messy Mansion donate 10% of their website profits to projects that benefit women. One of the projects gives girls the opportunity to go to school even when they are menstruating. Many girls in developing countries can't go to school those days of the month because they can't afford sanitary products. When a more affordable product is made, it gives a job for those women who make them, and the risk that the girls drop out of school is also reduced. The other project getting money from Messy Mansion, gives women who are incontinent or have other problems after childbirth, a chance to have the operation they need to be able to live normal lives. When I checked Messy Mansion's web site now, I found out that it's a different charity each month. You can read more about their "Women Empowering Women"- project here.

Edit: After reading Nail-to-Nail Interpretationsblog post, I want to add a link to Teal Toes. You can  raise awareness of ovarian cancer by painting your toenails teal, and getting your friends to paint their toenails teal too, and talk about ovarian cancer when someone asks about it, and making sure that they know the signs of this disease.

Below, you can find more manicures made for ovarian cancer awareness. A click on the thumbnails, will take you to their blog post. If you want to join in, you can add the link to your blog post at the bottom of one of our blog posts. It looks like the Inlinkz will work for a few more days.

Enchanted Polish: Magical Mystery Tour. Are your nails green or pink? Or blue?

Hello everyone!

This is 3 coats, on fake nails (if you wondered how they could grow this much on one week). When I met a woman today, and opened the door, I quickly explained that one nail had broken, and that I had bought some cheep fake nails that I had glued on, and that one of the fake nails had fallen off. She looked at them, and asked me what color my nails were. Are they green or pink? Or blue? Lol!!! She looked and looked, and I moved the hand, and even went out in the sun to show her the color shift.

Enchanted Polish: 'Magical Mystery Tour' -3 coats

This polish has the ability to make people happy. I think it is my favourite nail polish. I need to wear Nfu- Oh 51 soon. Magical Mystery Tour shows two or three colors at the same time most of the time. If I move the fingers in the sun it's green-blue-purple-pink-gold-brown. In the shade it's more blue-green. It also has tiny holographic particles that looks linear holographic in the sun, and like silver micro glitter in the shade. The polish has a thin consistency, but is easy to apply. I'm not an expert, but I felt that it needed extra time to dry. I also tried it over black, but managed to ruin the mani, because it was still wet. Over black it looks a little darker, but I'm not so used to wear black and dark colors on my nails. So I prefer the a little lighter version I get when I wear the polish on it's own.

Sun/ during sunset:

Under water photos:
The second evening, I applied a fourth coat because of damage to the nail polish on three of the nails. So I applied one more coat over the pinky too, so that it shouldn't look different from the other nails. Before top coat, I took these under water photos in a salad bowl.

I love photographing polishes like this. And I ended up with way too many photos. The first time I tried to pick the best photos, I ended up with 80. And I've tried to pick 10 of those, but it's difficult.

Did I mention that these photos were taken in April? Yes, we had snow a month ago... Here you can see that it had started melting, though. It felt very good to see some green moss where the snow had melted.
