I didn't participate in the first contest, but still remember the fantastic winner manicures. When I look at all the gorgeous entries now, I don't think I will win. Here is a link to the first nail art contest: Play To The Judge Nail Art Contest (Ends 6/30) To see the winners of it, click here.

The task and inspiration:
The task for this contest is to make "something that I will like". And we are encouraged to get to know her better by exploring the blog, pinterest, goodreads and facebook accounts. So I did that to find out more about her taste and interests. After a lot of exploring and brainstorming back and forth, I read the nail polish wish lists to find out which polish I should use. And then I saw that they both have flakies on their wish list. I also love flakies, so I started thinking about which color of flakies they would prefer. I don't have GOSH Rainbow, but I have Nfu- Oh flakies, and wanted to try to use them. First I tried to paint liquid concrete over the flakies, but that was too difficult. This is my second attempt.
I found this photo on April's facebook page, so I stole the idea from the tattooed back.
Here are some more photos of the manicure:

What I did was to use creme nail polish in a color similar to the flakies to hide the VNL (visible nail line). I could have used only one coat of the Nfu- Oh's (except for #50), but wanted it to look as it would have if I had used them on their own, so I chose to use 2 coats of each flakie. But because I did a bad job when applying #51, I used 3 coats of #51. Then I added the top coat to get all the layers dry, before I started dotting.
