MY AWESOME BEAUTY contest: Tape recreation #2

Hello everyone!

MY AWESOME BEAUTY is hosting a nail art contest with deadline today... This time, she has two other tape nail art designs for us to recreate. The task is to recreate one or both of  her tape designs, and take good photos of them. And if we choose to do both designs, we compete for both prizes, so I will have my next entry ready soon. The prizes are the entire TL Design fall collection (8 polishes) and TL Design's future pastel collection! To read everything about the contest, and see the two tape designs, click here. You can find the tutorials in the "HOW TO" section, where you also can learn about photography, and see the other tape designs Sophie has made.

This bright and colorful tape manicure is my first entry for this competition. I wanted to make a colorful version of Sophie's design. I will call it "Tape recreation #2" because I recreated one of Sophie's tape designs (3 triangles) for the competition that she hosted in April, so that is the first one.

Nail polish used:

H&M: I'm not a kiwi (yellow/green)
GOSH: #570 Peachy (orange)
GOSH: #598 Bubble Gum (pink)
Cult Nails base- and top coat

And I got a chance to try my striping tape.

I think I need these contests to get started with nail art. This kind of tape nail art might seem easy, and I thought so before I started, but it was really difficult. First to choose colors and the right formula on the first, second and third polish. And then to place the tape correctly. And then to put a top coat on without ruining everything... Do you have any advice about how to not ruin nail art with the top coat?

Here you can see the H&M polish on its own (compared to yellow and green), and the step by step transformation below.

Now I have to start writing about the other tape manicure.

  1. I love bubblegum! It is such a pretty pink. It sits lovely against your skin tone too x

    1. Me too. It's one of the few I have a backup bottle of. Thank you!

    1. Thank you! I had planned to use other colors, but that didn't work. And then I felt like using bright colors, and am pretty pleased with these.
