Pink Flower Skittlette - Water decals from Born Pretty Store

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year celebration! We visited someone who's neighbour sent up a lot of fireworks. Needless to say, we had a very good view from the window, but it was scarily close. And after midnight three deer ran through the garden!!! ♥ First a big one (a male?), and later two smaller (females?). So for me it was an unforgettable start of the new year. It wasn't that fun for the terrified deer though...

I made this skittlette a few months ago to show you these water decals that Born Pretty Store gave me:

For a direct link to the water decals, click here. If you want to buy something from Born Pretty Store, feel free to use my coupon code: NPBL10K31 to get a 10% discount.

I also wanted to try 3 new polishes:

Deborah Lippmann: 12th Street Rag
Misa: Kiss the Bride
Lynnderella: Ten Pipers Pinking

Deborah Lippmann and Misa are cruelty - free. Misa is also vegan (source). I can't find any information about Lynderella regarding animaltesting. (I thought I'd checked that before buying it...) Lynderella can be bought from NorwayNails.com and GlitterConnect.bigcartel.com.

Before adding the water decals:

What I did:

Thumb and pinkie: My first (and then) only Lynnderella. This is Ten Pipers Pinking. A pink microglitter with holographic glitter - 2 coats + 2 coats of Poshè

Index finger: Deborah Lippmann: 12th Street Rag - a pink metallic - one coat without top coat

Ring and middle finger:
Misa: Kiss the Bride - a classic white creme polish - 3 coats. When I had nearly finished painting a nail, I kept getting too much on the brush, and later ruined it when I thought it was dry. After a lot of frustration, I learned to use 3 thin layers.
Water decals from  Born Pretty Store. Sadly I applied one of them without using top coat first... So I had to redo the ring finger a forth time... and then I didn't have time for that, so don't look too closely on the not so perfect white nails. The water decals are perfect, it's my fault.

The first time I tried these water decals, I wanted to make a mani with a pink- grey gradient as background. But I found out that the decals have a little white on them, so I decided to make something else. So now I always do a little test before I start brainstorming about what could work together with the water decals:

I just cut out a piece, hold it with tweezers in a glass of warm water, slide it over to my wet finger, take a look at the colors, slide it back to the wet paper, and let it dry until it's time to use it.

♥ Thank you Born Pretty Store for giving me these pretty water decals! ♥

♥ Happy New Year! ♥

    1. Very nice to hear that you like it! :-) That makes me happy! "Feminine" sounds so much better that "girly".
