#2 Finger Painted Contest- Dromedary Caravan

Hello everyone!

This is part 2 of my Finger Painted Contest series. We are now moving from the South Pole (entry #1) to Africa.  Now we have reached the Sahara desert, as you hopefully can see from the photos. Here is my entry #2:

On all nails there are dromedary camels walking (and carrying stuff on their hump), sand dunes, and date palm trees. On the thumb I painted a man who walks with a dromedary on a leash.

My inspiration: A photo cut out of a calendar that I got for Christmas, with photos from the desert of south Tunisia. You can see the photo below. Memories after riding dromedary a long time ago.

(I don't know the name of the photographer.)

Nail polish used:

Orlane: #91 (dark gold)
Missha: HGR #01 (green)
OPI: Lady in Black (black)
Deborah Lippmann: Boom Boom Pow (gold glitter)
IsaDora: #852 Metal Mystery (copper-brown magnetic) with wave pattern magnet

Cult Nails: Get It On (base coat)
Cult Nails: Wicked Fast (topcoat)

I had hoped to get some more manicures ready. I had tons of ideas, but it was more difficult than I had expected. I actually made four more manicures, but they didn't look good on the photos. And now there is no more time for the other animals I had been thinking about. So I hope Lexi will have the same theme in her next competition! It was such a fun theme.

  1. I just found your blog today from your participation in Polish Days, and I *love* your nail art! I have to say, though, your picture composition is so lovely, that it makes me saaaad for the yellow/orange lighting in some of your pictures! I adore your outdoor and more natural lighting photos, though. Like I said, the composition is awesome. I wish I could figure out how to take more interesting looking pictures for my blog. :)

    1. Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the first photo in the Polish Days Geometry post is not the best. I'm just a beginner. Because I don't have a budget for this blog, I have to take photos where I can. I've just tried to take beautiful photos of polished nails, and try to capture the true color of the nail polish. I like the dark photos, but have seen that my skin gets a yellow/orange look. Having very fair skin, it doesn't bother me much, but if you don't like those photos, I can try to photograph in another way. Do you think it would help to change the light bulb to white light/ daylight light bulb, or are the orange walls causing an orange light?
