Hello everyone!

Today (November 8th, 2012) many people around the world are working together to stop bullying. I've joined a lot of nail polish bloggers, and to bring awareness about and to stop bullying, we are wearing purple nail polish or purple nail art. This campaign is called "No H8" because if you pronounce it in English, it sounds like "No hate".

Bullying is an epidemic in today's society, and it does not just happen to children or in a school setting. With technology being a large part of our every day lives, there is now a new form of bullying called "cyberbullying." Cyberbullying can occur via Facebook, text messages, blogs, emails, instant messages, and many other avenues.
Why is this important? Bullying (as a whole) has been linked to low self-esteem, substance abuse, depression, and suicide to name a few things.
Bullying in any form at any age is NOT OK!
Although everyone should be aware of the negative effects of bullying by now, and nearly everyone of us have experienced it ourselves, so far it has not been taken seriously enough. By this campaign I hope we can change the attitude towards bullying, so that it gets easier for us to help the victims of bullying. And I hope that there are many enough of us who have declared that we do not accept bullying, that it gets easier for the victims to seek help. I think a good way to prevent mental illnesses and suicide, is to make sure that people are kind to each other.
