October haul

Hello everyone!

If the photos appear to be too far to the right, please use Google Chrome!
October haul

This is what I bought in October. Well, I ordered more, but those packages arrived in November. So I will show them in my next haul post. Actually I have already started to use them, so I will probably make a "first half of November" haul post soon. Let's take a closer look:

Linda Johansen Nail Candy: Lilac Lilly, Star Gazer, Mystic Blue

Linda Johansen Nail Candy: Lilac Lady, Star Gazer, Mystic Blue

Lilac Lilly is a cream polish and the color is as it looks in the photos (at least on my screen). The other two don't look as themselves on the photo above.

I'm not sure how to describe or classify Star Gazer. It is quite shiny, and the color is like a mix of dark grey, brown, purple and gold. But it's not a duo chrome, although it looks a little different in different light. The gold shimmer doesn't show on the photo below. In real life this polish looks more interesting and beautiful in the bottle than on the nail.

Mystic Blue is a dusty medium dark blue with blue shimmer.

According to other bloggers, these three Linda Johansen nail polishes were released earlier this year. Star Gazer in the Winter Collection, Lilac Lilly in the Sugar Blossom Collection, and Mystic Blue in spring/ summer. I have used Star Gazer and Lilac Lilly in my Purple Glitters entry.

Linda Johansen's products can be purchased at Linda Johansen Beauty Shop, where you can find a list of stores in Norway. Linda Johansen Nail Candy nail polishes can also be purchased at Norway Nails. (Updated February 19, 2013)

Gina Tricot Beauty Nails: #102 Cabaret, #73 Disco

Gina Tricot: Cabaret, Disco
Cabaret is a blueish purple with microscopic pink and blue particles, but on the nail it looks dark blurple, and it is nearly impossible to photograph. These are the best of 30 photos:

Disco is a clear base with small sized hexagonal glitter in silver, pink, blue and green

GOSH: #571 Wild Lilac:

GOSH: Wild Lilac

This is a purple cream. It was on sale, and I love creams from GOSH (except for Miss Grey).

OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Just Spotted The Lizard

OPI in the mail

OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Just Spotted The Lizard
These are both from this summer's "The Amazing Spider Man"- Collection.

My Boyfriend Scales Walls is a cream nail polish that is white with a little grey in it. I have used 3 coats. I really needed it for nail art, and have used it several times. I used it in this Go Pink Wednesday post.

Just Spotted The Lizard is a CHANEL Peridot dupe; gold- green duo chrome. I think it's strange that it is legal to make dupes, but must admit that I am glad that I got a chance to buy a dupe that had not been tested on animals. I have used this one a few times too, and you might have seen it in my green nail art for depression awareness.

That's all. Now I need to find a good black cream nail polish. Do you have one to recommend? I need it as a base for glitter/ flakies/ nail art, and to make nail art, because the one I'm using has become old and thick. I have tried with thinner, but it doesn't seem to help much. The thinner I had many years ago made miracles with only 1-2 drops.

  1. I know it's anathema to admit it, but I've had the best luck with Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Black Out, though I know the weird brush turns some people off and the Sally Hansen name irritates other people. Still, it's cheap and works and is like a 1.5 coater to opaque for me.
