Hello everyone!
Geometry- Polish Days September |
On Polish Days, once a month, we all try to make a manicure and post it at the same time. Some weeks before, Polly Polish tells us what the theme/ task is, so that we have some time to think and prepare. And today our theme is GEOMETRY.
Click on the badge and go to Polly Polish and read more about Polish Days and how you can join in.

What I did:
This manicure is what gave me the idea. Thank you Nail Crazy! I did exactly as she did:

First I painted my nails with base coat, then the background color. I used 3-4 coats of Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game. (3 would have been enough if I hadn't used my hands a lot, so that it didn't look good any more.) The reason why I did the base color the day before was that I wanted to make sure that it was completely dry before working with the tape. I painted stripes of the chosen nail polishes on the tape, and when that was dry, I used the scissors to cut out triangles, squares and rectangles. (Circles was too difficult). I put the little pieces on a plastic bag, before I tried to place them randomly on the nails. (Some of those pieces of nail polish separated from the tape, so I had to use a little base coat (with a dotting tool) to glue them to the nail.) I chose to finish one nail before starting on the next. And then I sealed it with top coat.

The last week I thought a lot about which polishes would work best together. In the end I thought that if I just used polishes that I like very much, it would turn out good. I also wanted to use cruelty- free polishes, and that made it more difficult to choose. First I thought about using different shades of purple, then to use only one brand. I decided to use all my Deborah Lippmann nail polishes because they are more different than my OPIs. And because I haven't shown all of them on the blog yet. And because the glitters have a hexagonal shape, so that I could add even more geometri to the manicure. Now that I have seen the result, I wish I didn't use that many polishes. 4 or 5 would probably look better.
